On this September 25, Franco-Ontarian Day, let's remember that in September 1975, a vast movement of civil disobedience known as "C'est l'temps!" was born in Ontario.

On September 3, 1979, an illegal French secondary school opened in makeshift premises in Penetanguishene.

On June 20, 1993, two years after the demolition of the last building in the village of Lemieux, a huge mud pit swept away a driver and his vehicle, swallowing up a vast portion of land.

1991 was not an easy year for Spruce Falls employees and for the small community of Kapuskasing, whose livelihood depends on this pulp and paper mill. The recession was in full swing, and the price of newsprint was plummeting.
